On February 25, 2021, the National University of Civil Engineering (NUCE) in collaboration with Ecosystem Co., Ltd. and Oriental Consultants Co., Ltd. held an online webinar " Project on recycling used bricks and tiles into water retainable pavement materials in Vietnam”.
Attending the seminar, there were Mr. Takata Minoru - President of Ecosystem Company; Mr. Suzuki Motofumi – Representative of Oriental Consultants Company; MSC. Kawamoto Ken – Saitama University, Japan. On the side of NUCE, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang - Vice-Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Viet Nga – Dean of Faculty of Environmental Engineering; MSc. Nghiem Ha Tan - Deputy Head of International Cooperation Department.
Overview of the webinar
Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang expressed his pleasure to cooperate with Ecosystem Company and Oriental Consultants Company to organize this seminar. The collaboration is solid evidence of the close cooperation between the University and companies in research and technology transfer. NUCE has been working closely with Saitama University in Japan currently to implement the SATREPS project "Establishing an effective construction waste management system to control environmental pollution and enhance the capacity of manufacture new materials from recycled construction waste in Vietnam” funded by JICA and JST, said by the Rector. He also hopes that attendees raise their opinion and exchange their knowledge with an aim to develop safer and more efficient technologies.

Ecosystem Co., Ltd. and Oriental Consultants Co., Ltd. Has been currently implementing a project to promote business expansion and commercialization of the Japanese recycling industry to foreign countries by the Ministry of Environment, Japan. In Vietnam, the project is conducting a study to assess the feasibility of manufacturing possibility, supplying and executing the "K-Ground" water retainable pavement materials, using raw materials from used bricks and tiles in Vietnam. The projects contribute to construction waste reduction, technology transfer promotion and applying Japanese experiences to expand the recycling industry in Vietnam.
